Mera Bharath Mahan !!!

Gone are the days when England ruled India. The recent british airways advertisement tells us how much can change in the world.
"BA says 'Namaste' to India" - For India the world is waiting.
Then there was an advertisement about Deutsche Bank starting operations in India.
Slowly the world is sitting up and taking notice of the country which is not only geographically enthralling but diverse in every sense of the world.
When i was studying in college my dad used to worry about how the talented youngsters went abroad to study and later settle in India. About three-fourths of my family are permanenet residents of the US of A. But nobody is to blame. When there are oppurtunities galore nobody wants to ignore that.
But slowly things are taking a new turn. People are coming back to India with a new vision. You have German auto majors like BMW and Volkswagon opening manufacturing units in INDIA. MBA Aspirants from US bschools made their way to this asian sub-continent where the action was. They claimed that nobody could afford to ignore the growth in India and the potential to grow further.Businessweek states so.
Movies like Swades and Yuva are an inspiration to Indians who would not fall prey to the Dollar dreams. We are talented and we are destined to achieve. We have started shining and we are here to stay. To leave a mark and make the world stop and take notice of this growing strength. We are climbing the ladder slowly and diligently, there are some setbacks but we are still climbing.. just a matter of time while till we reach the pinnacle of glory. India is definitely shining bright!! A moment in history where i sit back and take pride in what my country has achieved ,admire my countrymen for making this possible and in some tiny way being a part of this spectacle.

India is home and there is no place in the world to match it.
I completely am in-sync with all you have put...

To quote a few line of one of my favorite tracks -
"Ye Jo Desh Hai Tera..Swadesh Hai mera....Mitti ki hai Jo Khushboo, Woh Kaise bhulayega...Tu chahe Kahin Jaye, Tu Lautke aayega "

India has made me ME :o)

Inspite of a million worries in my head, i still have a feeling of content that by working here I can make a little contribution to its success around the globe.

True , darn true what ever U have written. We are makin progress in many areas which is goin to make India a strong economy. Have U thought abt where our society is goin? I feel after the incidents of Dina Malar, Khushboo, AnnaUniversity, arresting of hotel managers will ratify the fact that we are receeding in terms of our society. What Say?

I agree with Catch22. The problem with this rapid progress is our values are deteriorating. If we make sufficient progress to be a developed nation (and I strongly believe we will) our way of life would take a rather tragic turn to the materialistic. Which would be rather unfortunate. But thats the price you have to pay for progress, I guess.

Good post

i feel...there would be definetely compromise on something when there is development...but the qn. is "if it has to be values"?
if not values, what could it be....pondering over...

@Sundar: I don Understand why there has to be compromise? To make progress is the most natural thing to happen if we are not hindered with the problems we have been. I don believe that making progress in one area will lead to deterioration of progress in another.

@Atul : Making progress, moving ahead is my right as a human being, I wont pay a price for exercising my right.

@Madhoo:Tx. Keep Visiting.
@Rocking chick:"India is home", i cudn't agree more!!
@catch22:Thts the sad part.. when we have more significant problems to tackle..politicians & others end up spending their time and energy on silly things like changin names.. what can i say? Esp the kushbhoo episode.. man last i heard we still had freedom of expression! The worst part was we had a serious problem with AIDS and instead people wanted to potray that we are cultured ..Damn it!!
@atul: The price to pay for progress..Interestin line of thought. The point with indians are they always want to potray something they are not. Time's changin, we are getting westernised but there are some merits and some demerits. I enjoy the freedom i have but i dont take advantage of it.There's a careful choice one has to make..am not sure whether people realise that.. will write a post about it sometime!!
@sundar: let me know when u finish pondering ;o).Keep visiting!!
@catch22: u misunderstand. When there are people striving to make india stronger, there are people who are taking us back to stone age and there lies our weakness.If everyone had their minds and hearts clean we would be stronger than the strongest nation now..

This reflects my thoughts. Being on the other side of the fence, its so true. And as the Germans themselves admit, India is the next big thing to happen.

I hope this doesn't get into tour heads, least we become laidback.

And it feels good to come back home for holidays.. Cheers to that!!

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.
-Tyler Durden from the movie Fight Club.

"Losing all hope was freedom."
"This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time."

Although i haven't watched this movie or read the book i have heard a great deal abt it now and then and there are few things like the ones mentioned above that make me think. Keep visiting.
